Artwork Guidelines for Custom Embroidery & Branded Apparel
Sending the right artwork helps us produce the cleanest embroidery, fastest proofs and best-looking branded apparel. Follow these simple guidelines when submitting your logo to PROMOXWEAR.
Best File Types to Send
Whenever possible, send the original logo file created by your designer rather than a screenshot or image copied from a website.
Adobe Illustrator
Vector artwork gives us the cleanest edges and allows your logo to be resized without losing quality.
.AIVector EPS
Excellent for logos, text and artwork that needs to be resized for different garments or placements.
.EPSVector PDF
PDFs work well when the original artwork remains vector-based and fonts have been converted to outlines.
.PDFSVG
A scalable vector file is another strong option for simple logos, icons and clean line artwork.
.SVGHigh-Resolution PNG
PNG artwork can work well when it is large, sharp and preferably has a transparent background.
.PNGHigh-Resolution JPG
JPG files may be usable if they are high resolution and the logo edges are clear and not pixelated.
.JPG / .JPEGArtwork to Avoid
Low-quality artwork can slow down your order and may require us to recreate or clean up the logo before production.
Screenshots are usually too small and compressed for clean production artwork.
Logos copied directly from websites may look clear on-screen but often lack enough resolution for production.
If your logo looks blurry when enlarged, we may need a better source file.
A photo of a printed shirt, sign or business card is not ideal production artwork.
Embroidery Artwork Guidelines
Embroidery uses thread rather than ink, so certain artwork may need small adjustments to sew cleanly.
What Works Best for Embroidery
- Clean, defined logo shapes
- Readable lettering
- Strong contrast between colors
- Simple outlines and solid areas
- Artwork sized appropriately for the placement
Very Small Details May Need Adjustment
Extremely small lettering, thin lines, tiny gaps, gradients and photographic detail cannot always be reproduced exactly with embroidery thread.
If adjustments are needed, our team will recommend the best way to preserve the overall appearance of your logo.
What Is Embroidery Digitizing?
Your logo image cannot be sent directly to an embroidery machine. It first needs to be converted into an embroidery production file.
You Send Your Logo
Send your best available artwork when placing your order or requesting a quote.
We Prepare the Embroidery File
Your artwork is converted into stitch instructions specifically for professional embroidery equipment.
We Sew a Proof
We provide an actual sewn sample for approval before production when applicable.
You Approve Production
Once the logo, colors and placement are approved, your order moves into production.
Logo Colors & Thread Matching
We match embroidery thread as closely as possible to your supplied logo colors.
If your company uses Pantone, PMS or other brand color standards, include those color references with your artwork. Thread colors are matched as closely as possible, but embroidery thread may not be an exact digital or printed color match.
Logo Ownership & Usage Rights
By submitting artwork to PROMOXWEAR, you confirm that you own the artwork or have permission to reproduce the logo, trademark, design or other submitted content.
Send Us What You Have.
Not sure whether your artwork will work? Send us your best available file and our team will review it before production.
